Tsevet Lohamim is a core program of Growing Wings, dedicated to preparing the next generation of combat leaders in Israel. Through advanced training, mentorship, and community, Tsevet Lohamim strengthens the Jewish people by instilling values of sacrifice, resilience, and leadership.
We prepare future combat soldiers, both immigrants and sabras, to become leaders in the IDF and in Israeli society, building the next generation of warriors and leaders to protect the Jewish people and strengthen the State of Israel.
Our community of warriors and mentors, supported by Growing Wings, are dedicated to strengthening Israel and the Jewish people through resilience, sacrifice, and leadership.
The Need
Israel faces a widening gap in motivation for combat service and an erosion of social cohesion. Through Growing Wings’ support, Tsevet Lohamim addresses these challenges by equipping young men and women with the skills, discipline, and values of Israel’s special forces. Participants learn resilience, teamwork, and leadership, qualities that prepare them not only for military excellence but also for civic responsibility and national unity.
Program Activities
With Growing Wings’ backing, Tsevet Lohamim delivers a dynamic program built on three pillars:

Military Leadership Training – Special Forces–style physical and mental preparation for IDF service.

History
Tsevet Lohamim was founded in 2010 by Bernardo, a former Lone Soldier from Mexico. Drafted at 19, Bernardo benefitted from mentors who guided him through the dangers and challenges of service. Realizing that many new recruits lacked this support, he established Tsevet Lohamim to prepare young immigrants and Israeli youth at risk for meaningful and successful IDF service.
In 2024, Tsevet Lohamim joined the Growing Wings umbrella, expanding its impact with the support, resources, and network of the broader Growing Wings family. Together, we have built a strong community of over 1,000 alumni, members, and partners. Around 90% of participants are accepted into elite or special forces units, many becoming decorated commanders. Alumni now lead not only in the military but also in Israeli industry and society, continuing to strengthen the country by example.
